Salazar Home in a Month 2024

The Home in a Month of 2024 was the replacement of a 40-year-old pier and beam home for the Salazar family. Nora Salazar had ordered the bones of her old home out of catalog over 40 years ago. She lives with her youngest daughter Victoria and two grandchildren, Hannah and Rylinn. Nora is retired after working for many years at Dripping Springs ISD. Victoria works at the school district as well and both grandchildren attend DSISD schools. Nora’s middle daughter, Melissa reached out to Hometown Missions in 2021 about the issues with the bathroom at her mom’s home. After Hometown Missions assessment and recognizing the conditions of the old home would be difficult to repair, the Salazars were informed that a new replacement home would be built as a Home in a Month project. In the late spring of 2024 200 plus volunteers, community businesses, and other vital partners constructed a 3 bedroom, one and half bath home for this beautiful and loving family.
