Tear down and removal of old home. Completed with heavy equipment by Sunset Construction and Excavation. Not a volunteer task but an event to not be missed. Very moving.

Preparing the site for 2024 Home in a Month project. Trees need to be cut and cleared, back barbed wire fence repaired and put back up, cleaning debris and old unused items around the home.
HTM Service Day with CityWide Youth of DS
Hometown Mission adult volunteers along with the youth of CityWide are helping a neighbor in need with a few large tree limbs still on the ground after last year’s ice storm. A brush pile will be removed and loaded up into a dumpster as well.
December Community Service Day
Hometown Missions and volunteers will be helping an old and dear friend for the organization. Martha was in the room that dark stormy night when Hometown Missions was born. We will be assisting her with some yard cleanup and tree remediation on the property. We are also cleaning out and reorganizing the appliance barn that she graciously lets us use for storage. Come out to the amazing and fun holiday festival Christmas on Mercer. Hometown Missions will have prizes for spinning the wheel with a donation and raffle prizes with donations as well.

Hometown Missions Tree & Property Cleanup 2.0
Hometown Missions is returning to Sarah’s home to complete the tree and debris cleanup at her property. Weather forced a stop and we are looking to wrap up a few tasks outside.
Lisa Patten Wheelchair Ramp Project
Hometown Missions in partnership with DS Lions Club and volunteers from DS Elite will construct a wheelchair ramp for Lisa and her mother. No longer able to safely leave and enter their home a need for a ramp became a priority. In addition, the unsafe and falling down shed next to their home will be torn down and placed in a dumpster.
Zapata Home in a Month Dedication & Blessing
Please join Hometown Missions and all the volunteers that worked to get the Zapata family into their new home. The Zapatas are preparing enchiladas, rice, and beans and cake to celebrate their new home.
Tree Remediation Service Day DS Neighbor in Need
As some of our DS Neighbours are still struggling to clean up after this February’s ice storm Hometown Missions needs 10-15 volunteers with chainsaws, pole saws, cutters, and folks to put the cutting into dumpster on site.
