Helping out an old friend, Margaret Sprouse.
Margaret Sprouse is an old and dear friend to Hometown Missions. Back in 2011 we helped her and her husband with a replacement mobile home that had been donated from Sister Yvonne of St. Martin de Porres after she retired. Hometown demolished their old home and moved the replacement in completed with new furnishings. After Margaret’s husband passed away Hometown stayed in close contact with Margaret and assisted her with any needs. Recently Margaret reached out to Hometown because she had a leak in roof into her bedroom. After assessing the situation Hometown called upon the men of Austin Ridge Bible Church to help clear out a great many trees damaging the roof and causing the leak. Hometown repaired the roof, patched the ceiling in Margaret’s bedroom, replaced the broken ceiling fan and light in the bedroom, and replaced the old vinyl flooring in the hallway that had become a trip hazard. The tree remediation was lovely sunny Saturday morning with a dozen men, a few chainsaws, and a full 30-yard dumpster. A second Saturday visit saw three Hometown volunteers installing the donated flooring from Quality Floors & More. Hometown Missions is extremely grateful to all the volunteers from ARBC and the flooring team for helping this wonderful neighbor out. Margaret is especially grateful for the tree remediation as the recent ice storm that broke so many tree limbs in Central Texas could have been a life threatening event for her. Blessing to all!
